Buhari has appointed, Mahmood Yakubu, as new chairman of the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Mahmood Yakubu is a
professor of political history and international studies. He is a former
executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.
He is to take over from the acting chairman of the commission, Amina Zakari, with immediate effect.
Following the latest development, Amina Zakari, is now the INEC Commissioner representing, North-West.
