The highest appointment of an opposition party candidate in the Senate was the Minority Leader as enshrined in National Assembly rules during the Peoples Democratic Party’s 16-year reign. The Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, should have contested for the Senate presidency to convince Nigerians he is representing Ndigbo’s interest in the National Assembly instead of settling for deputy.
The Deputy Senate President is his share for supporting Bukola Saraki’s Senate presidency ambition.
He should endeavour to defect to the All Progressives Congress if he
sincerely wants to represent Ndigbo’s interest and not the PDP’s latent
agenda which is aimed at rubbishing APC’s programmes before the 2019
general election.
