Earlier in the day, the 70-member delegation had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the matter with him.
During the meeting, the leaders urged the BJP chief to find ways and means to resolve the Jat reservation issue.
“Met a delegation of Jat leaders from different states at my residence today in Delhi,” Shah said after meeting them.
Prominent among the Jat leaders were Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu and his colleague in the Haryana cabinet O P Dhankar, besides Mathura MP Hema Malini, former Mumbai Police Commissioner and now BJP MP Satyapal Singh and Delhi MP Parvesh Verma.
The Supreme Court on March 17 scrapped reservation for the Jat community given by the UPA government in nine states.
Setting aside the notification extending the OBC status to Jats, the apex court slammed the Centre’s decision to overlook the finding of an OBC panel that Jat is not a backward class.
